New editor of Acta Politica

We are happy to announce that Benjamin Leruth (RUG) will be the new editor of Acta Politica. That also means Rens Vliegenthart (UvA) after six years hands over the baton. We want to express our debt of gratitude to Rens for his dedication and hard work as editor of the journal together with Emilie van Haute. Under his co-editorship the journal has continued to flourish and consolidate its place as a well read and respectable international journal of Political Science in the field. It has broadened its international scope and its impact significantly yet retains a unique niche as the journal of Political Science from the Low Countries. Benjamin has started his editorship with the same energy and ambition as his predecessor and is together with Emile already developing ideas to improve the visibility of the journal as well as the organization of the editorial process. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration and to hearing more about Acta Politica’s new policies soon!

Winner Els Witte Prize

It is our pleasure to introduce the winner of the Els Witte annual prize for outstanding PhD thesis in Political Science for 2021.

The jury has decided to award the prize to Thomas Jacobs (Ghent University). The theoretical approach stood out as very original and the thesis’ empirical analysis was highly convincing. The jury was impressed by the open access of the data which they felt was a ‘best practice’ methodologically.

Once again, congratulations, Thomas!
