Acta Politica<\/strong> is the international, English-language journal of the Netherlands Association of Political Science (NKWP) and is published by Palgrave Macmillan. Established in 1965, the journal is one of the few political science journals with a genuinely broad scope across the discipline. In 2020, it achieved an impact factor of 2.404 (Journal Citation Reports, Clarivate).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journal publishes theoretical and empirical contributions, comparative studies, country analyses, and methodological notes. The editorial team particularly welcomes submissions that are relevant to a broad political science audience and that advance the discipline through innovative insights or approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of its 50th anniversary in 2015, Kees Aarts and Ingrid van Biezen published a retrospective titled Looking Back at 50 Years of Acta Politica<\/em>. In this reflection, they emphasized the importance of maintaining a broad and accessible journal that provides space for diverse subfields within political science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
