The Dutch Political Science Association (NKWP) organises a wide range of activities for political scientists and serves as a platform for both academic and practitioner political scientists. Our main activities include:
- In collaboration with the Flemish Political Science Association (VPW), we organise the annual Belgian-Dutch Political Science Conference (Politicologenetmaal). This conference provides (early-career) scholars and practitioner political scientists with the opportunity to present their research and engage with new developments in the field.
- In partnership with Palgrave Macmillan, we publish Acta Politica — an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to political science.
- We award the Els Witte Annual Prize in Political Science and the Daniel Heinsius Prize. These awards recognise, respectively, the best PhD dissertation and the best Master’s thesis completed in the past year.
- The NKWP regularly organises symposia and discussion meetings that focus on current political and scientific themes, providing space for in-depth reflection, debate, and professional exchange.
